Environmental protection officer Kitamori takes his beloved dog Goro to Hokkaido to hunt a brown bear, but is killed in a sudden attack by the bear. Goro, having lost his owner, sets out for Tokyo, driven by his homing instinct, seeking Reiko, the other owner and Kitamori's daughter.
