Antique Heisey No. 1201 Fandango Glass Cheese Plate 8" circa 1896 platter
Heisey's first pattern, No. 1201 Fandango was produced prior to the beginning of the last century (circa 1896). The molds were destroyed so it was never duplicated or reproduced as were many of Heisey's later patterns. Fandango was meant to compete with Early American Pattern Glass. The Cheese plate offered is one of the remarkably attractive items an the Fandango line. It is lighter and more delicate than other Fandango items and it shows off the pattern masterfully. It is almost 8 across and raises about 1 off the table from its base. There is nothing in the Fandango line that comes close to it. It is a difficult to find piece and, as an example of Heisey first pattern, belongs in every Heisey collection. Our example is in mint condition - we find no faults.Need more photos?
