I wore this at the beach about 8 years ago, and sand got into the fabric. It looks appreciate mold. I stretched the fabric and put it in water, and also tapped it, which removed a lot of it, and it's become less noticeable, but it's still there. The third photo shows the sand embedded in the fabric.
After that, my child wore it about 5 times in the pool when they were in upper elementary school. It can still be worn.
